What is Sex Therapy?

Sex therapy is a form of therapy that helps you explore your relationship with sex, intimacy, and your body. Many of us grow up without having not so open conversations about how our bodies work or that we have our own desires, boundaries, and needs. The messages we receive from family, school, culture, religion, relationships, media, and past experiences shape the way we view sex, our bodies, and what we believe we are “supposed” to feel or experience.

In sex therapy, we explore your unique relationship with sex and sexuality—including your beliefs, values, experiences, and the factors that have shaped how you understand sex and intimacy. We will talk about topics like desire, arousal, orgasm, pain with sex, body image, sexual confidence, communication, relationship dynamics, sexual identity, sexual trauma, shame, and anxiety around intimacy.

Sex therapy is not just about addressing problems—it’s also a space to better understand yourself, reconnect with your body, and build a relationship with sex that feels healthy, empowering, and authentic to you.

These conversations are personal and vulnerable, so we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you! There is no pressure to share anything before you feel ready.
